Flowers, Honeybees and gorgeous hair. Get the most out of Spring this year with these killer Hair Resolutions that are sure to turn your hair care routine from drab to FAB this season. Protein Workouts at your local gym aren’t the only thing that benefit from a little protein. 90% of our hair is made of protein, but we lose a lot of it through heated styling or chemical processes, like hair dye. This leaves your hair (as well as our hearts) broken, and oh so damaged. By incorporating a protein hair treatment into your hair care routine, you can restore those broken strands and have silky hair that not only looks great but feels AMAZING! Thankfully we’ve got your hair covered with our Cosmocaps packed full of silk protein. Hair Mask All natural, real ingredients are essential when it comes to caring for your hair and ensuring it stays as healthy as ever. Avoid sulfates, and all the fake yucky stuff and you should be good to go! Spoiler Alert: Keep an eye out, we’re launching something new your hair’s going to love very soon. Plant Based Going totally vegan can be hard to stick to, but lowering your animal produce intake can totally help improve your hair! Not only do many people find that their hair becomes shiner and thicker, their hair looks and feels super healthy too! Switching up your hair products to a plant based alternative will do wonders for your mane. Our Cosmocap’s are a plant based keratin hair treatment, designed to transform dry, damaged hair into the shiny, healthy hair you’ve been dreaming of! Formulated to bring that healthy shine without making your hair greasy. Heat Protectant Heated styling is an absolute bummer when it comes to maintaining healthy hair. That’s why using a heat protectant is so, so, (and we can not stress this enough) SO important when it comes to avoiding heat damage. Do as the hair salons do, and give it a go! Beat Humidity A game-changer during the muggy months, fight a good fight with an anti-humidity spray. Found at most Drugstores and Hair Care stores, anti-humidity sprays are a staple this Spring. Simply mist the spray on dry hair, aiming towards the roots, and protect your hair from frizz even on the most muggy of days (and nights!). For extra protection finish your routine with some Cosmocap to seal in hydration and block out humidity and frizz causing environmental factors.
4 ULTIMATE HAIR TIPS THAT WILL SAVE YOUR HAIR THE NEXT TIME YOU TRAVEL
If there was ever a time to amp up the mane-tenance, it would be while you’re on vacay. When traveling, we’re exposed to everything from dirt, sun, humidity, snow and sea salt, to chlorine filled pool water that makes your hair go all super crunchy and firm to the touch. Our hair totally takes the L when we’re on holidays…
But never fear, we’ve put together our personal list of the 4 best things you can do while traveling to keep your hair oh-so shiny and oh-so insta worthy. Because your hair’s like 90% of you selfie, and it deserves to look it’s best.
Planning is key
The easiest way to ensure you don’t leave your next getaway with damaged, uncombable hair, is to prep your hair pre-travel with the help of your go-to hairdresser. A healthy trim to remove any existing dead ends, and a deep condition treatment is sure to properly prep your hair before it fights for its life in the holiday elements. If you plan on getting your hair colored, we recommend doing it at least 14 days before take off to prevent sun fade and any further damage.
Stylish yet Practical
Whether it’s swimming in salty seas all day, or hiking dusty mountains from the am to the pm, your hair can sometimes take the backseat when it comes to priorities abroad. That’s why stylish, yet practical hairstyles are a must on your next vacay.
Super fancy, high-maintenance hairstyles are just too much work to maintain when you’re traveling, and they can eat up time that’s supposed to be spent exploring (or napping, if you’re like us!). Updo’s like buns or slicked back ponytails are a lifesaver on travel. They’re cute but easy, comfortable but not ugly, and they take no time at all to style. That’s what we call a win-win scenario!
The unsung hero of the hair world, dry shampoo will have you refreshed and revamped in no time, absorbing the grease and oil from your hair in between washes! It’s the easiest way to freshen up your mane without water, and it’s going to be a lifesaver on your next trip (we promise!).
Let’s talk Cosmocaps
Ok so we get it, we’re biased. But when it comes to hair care while traveling, our Cosmocaps definitely have your back. Our Cosmocaps are made to travel with you (carry on style!) and designed to nourish and hydrate your hair on-the-go. Small and super light-weight, the capsules help with taming humidity in the warmer climates and protecting your hair in the cold. Stock up on these pre-portioned bad boys before your next trip, and you’re golden!
Great for the mind and the body, a lot of people would say a good fitness routine is the key to health and happiness. However, it can totally wreak havoc on your hair (and we’re not just talking about messing up your wash days!). From the more obvious haircare no-no’s we face in the gym like a super-tight, scalp pulling ponytail, to the smaller unnoticeables like UV damage, we’re here to give you the 101 on workout proofing your hair. # 1. The Ari Effect If you have hair any longer than a short bob, we get it, you need to tie those luscious locks back when you’re working out. However, what we’re about to say might hurt a lot of you (we shed a tear ourselves while writing it), but you have to retire the high pony / top knot in the gym for the sake of your hair! Not only is an updo that’s too tight going to weaken and break your strands, but it’s going to stress out your scalp from the constant pulling and tension on your hair. We recommend leaving the high ponys for a special occasion, and tying your hair back loosely and low when you hit the gym from now on! # 2. Sweat Sweat is great, and low-key the goal when you’re working out. However, letting your hair sit in sweaty grossness for too long is a big no from us. Not only can sweat dry out your hair, clog up your hair follicles and prevent new hair growth, but it can leave your strands prone to breakage… which just isn’t the vibe. Pre-Workout: We recommend using a leave-in conditioner to help build a layer of protection between your hair and your sweat. Post workout: Make sure to gently brush through your hair to help evenly distribute moisture. # 3. Shampoo Breaks Good news, underwashing is in! Sometimes when we work out often, we’re tempted to wash our hair every day to get rid of that gross sweaty smell. However, if you wash your hair every time you work out, you’re probably washing your hair wayyy too often. Skip your next wash day, and let your hair breathe in it’s natural oils! It’s a lot less work for you, AND it’ll help save your hair. # 4. UV Damage Obviously only an issue if you workout outside, but did you know that hair can get burnt too? Faded color, frizziness, dry strands and more… UV damage can be such a b**ch too deal with! We recommend wearing a hat or head covering when working out outside to protect your hair. It seems so obvious, but sometimes those tips are the best kind!
